Crystal structure and electrical resistivity of NdCo2Al8

Description
The new ternary compound NdCo2Al8 has been prepared and studied by means of X-ray powder diffraction technique. The structural refinement of the compound was performed by using Rietveld method. The ternary compound NdCo2Al8 crystallizes in the orthorhombic CaCo2Al8-type structure with space group Pbam (No. 55). Electrical resistivity of the compound NdCo2Al8 was also measured between 5 and 300 K. Temperature variation of the electrical resistivity suggests its metallic character of the compound with an anomaly detected at 8.0 K
