Description
Aquation of the [Ru2OCl10]4- anion in sulfuric acid solutions considered by the methods of spectrometry, Raman spectroscopy and PMR. In the 5 mol H2SO4 solution the initial Ru-O-Ru structure preserves when substituting, at least, three chloroligands in the coordination sphere of every ruthenium ion with regular strengthening of the Ru-O-Ru bond. A model for description of kinetic peculiarities of aquation is suggested; optimization of calculation of values of rate constants of sequential substitution of H2O for about four anions Cl- in the ruthenium coordination sphere is carried out. Thermodynamic parameters obtained for transition states of hydration correspond to the diagram of substitution for two axial Cl-anions at the initial period of aquation with later removal of equatorial Cl- ions
