Electronic structure of LaRu2P2 superconductor probed by Angle Resolved Photoemission Spectroscopy

Full text: The details of the electronic structure are really important for understanding how superconductivity emerges in Iron pnictides. The presence of long parts of Fermi surface (FS) connected by a fixed wave vector Q, the so-called FS nesting, has been proposed to be the driving force for the formation of the Spin Density Wave (SDW) and superconductivity in the phase diagram of pnictides. To examine this idea we made a comprehensive study of the electronic structure of LaRu2P2. This compound has the same structure of the pnictides in the '122 family' and it is superconducting at low temperatures (Tc = 4 K). In this contribution we will discuss the quantitative difference in the band structures between LaRu2P2 and the more studied Ba1-xKxFe2As2 in the normal state. The relevance of the Fermi surface nesting in LaRu2P2 will also be discussed. (author)
