The Influence of Butane on the Production of NOx in an Atmospheric Discharge

  • 1. GREMI, Universite d'Orleans, Orleans (France)

Description

Gliding arc discharge are the subject of a renewed interest in application to variety of chemical reactions. These devices are studied mainly for decontamination and general gas treatment. The efficiency of such devices is significant for many pollutants. Gliding arc and number of atmospheric discharges in air are producing NOx. One way which can be studied to reduce NOx emission is to use a mixture of air and hydrocarbons. In order to study hydrocarbon effect, we performed experiments using air-butane mixtures and we measured the NO, NO2 and NOx production. (author)
