Description

This paper describes the irradiation cell which is loaded with 100 μg californium -252 neutron source. The irradiation facilities and methods which have been used to determine the spatial flux and dose distributions of neutrons and gamma rays in the irradiation channel are given and discussed. These methods include the experimental measurements which were performed with neutron activation and TLD detectors and theoretical calculations which were carried out with the MCNP code. The obtained results the flux distributions of thermal and epitherma neutrons as well as the dose distributions of show neutrons and gamma-rays in the irradiation channel. these results indicate clearly that this irradiation cell with its irradiation facilities can be used for many applications in nuclear, radiological and medical sciences and technologies
