Description
Some physical characteristics of the Martian atmosphere aerosol particles are analyzed using the terrestrial-based polarimetric measurements. The theoretical spectra dependence of the negative polarization of light reflected by Martian surface was used. It is based on taking into account single and double Fresnel reflections of light by microfacets of soil particles and shadow effect. From estimations the average size of aerosol particles is about 0.5 μm which is close to the Viking data
