Life extension of nuclear power plants

Description

A survey is presented of nuclear power plants in the world which were permanently decommissioned to the end of 1987 and a survey of those which by the year 2000 will have been in operation for 30 or 40 years. Measures are outlined which should be taken in the interest of extending the life of nuclear power plants. The problems are presented which should be solved by research, project design and design organizations to be able to extend the life of Czechoslovak nuclear power plants. The results of such studies should be published in the 12th to 15th year of the plants' operation. (Z.M.). 23 figs., 2 tabs., 11 refs
