Implementation of a SMART management system for ARC Clean Energy Canada Inc

An essential requirement for any high performing organization is the establishment of a management system designed to meet business and regulatory requirements. ARC Clean Energy Canada Inc. (ARC Canada) has developed an evolutionary approach in its management system designed to meet the requirements of an evolving organization while also addressing the concept of "intelligent customer". The implementation of ARC Canada's SMART management system provides direction on every aspect of the organization giving confidence to the technology development. As ARC Canada evolves, the management system remains flexible and allows the operating structure and practices to change, if needed, while keeping a focus on safety, security, health, reliability, environment, national and international standards, quality and customer requirements. This holistic approach will contribute to the efficiency of ARC Canada while meeting the stringent constraints of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC). This paper will focus on the design of ARC Canada's management system, challenges in its development, and its ability to adapt as required while meeting the requirements of the applicable jurisdictional, national, and international authorities.
