Synthesis of dialkyltellurides

Description
When Te interacts with KOH and hydrazine hydrate, K2Te2 is formed, which is readily alkylated by alkyl halides. The dialkyltellurides prepared are extracted from reactive mixture by ether. Me2Te2 yield amounts to 34-45%, the substance purity being 99%. 2 refs
