Pipeline leak detection and location by on-line-correlation with a process computer

Description
A method for leak detection using a correlation technique in pipelines is described. For leak detection and also for leak localisation and estimation of the leak flow recursive estimation algorithms are used. The efficiency of the methods is demonstrated with a process computer and a pipeline model operating on-line. It is shown that very small leaks can be detected. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Es wird eine Methode zur Leckerkennung bei Fluidleitungen mittels Korrelationsverfahren beschrieben. Zur Anzeige eines Lecks, aber auch zur Leckortung und zur Bestimmung des Leckstroms werden rekursive Algorithmen angegeben. Die Leistungsfaehigkeit der Verfahren wird anhand eines Modellprozesses, der im On-line-Betrieb mit einem Prozessrechner betrieben wird, demonstriert. Es wird gezeigt, dass sehr kleine Lecks erkannt werden koennen. (orig.)Additional details
