Description
A high-temperature superconducting (HTS) bus conductor with a capacity of 20 kA and 5 m long has been constructed. The HTS bus was wound by hermetic stainless-steel-reinforced multifilamentary Bi2223/Ag tapes. Its structure is multilayer by clockwise and anticlockwise winding with different winding spiral pitch and angle based on a conventional uniform current approach. The joint technology between HTS tapes and terminations is developed in order to ensure that the resistances between them are as small as possible. Fundamental characteristics of the HTS bus conductor are obtained at the liquid nitrogen temperature of 77 K.
