Angular dependence of dosimetric films for gamma radiation

Description

In most situations, radiations workers are subjected to radiation exposures at randon angles of incidence. Consequentetly, the personnel dose estimates would be lower since calibration is usually accomplished with stationary films positioned perpendicular to beam on radiation, i.e., at normal incidence. In oder to obtain an error estimate due to angular dependence the radiation incidence angle related to badges having Agfa Gevaert Struturix D2 and D10 (commonly used in individual dosimeter) was variated between 0 and 900. Abstract (Portuguese)

Na maioria das situacoes onde os trabalhadores sao expostos a radiacoes ionizantes sob diferentes angulos de incidencia, a dose absorvida individual estimada com o auxilio de filmes dosimetricos deve ser menor que a real, uma vez que estes filmes sao normalmente calibrados numa posicao fixa perpendicular ao feixe de radiacao, isto e, com incidencia normal ao feixe. Afim de se obter uma estimativa do erro devido a dependencia angular, o angulo de incidencia da radiacao em relacao aos porta-dosimetros contendo filmes Agfa Gevaert, modelo Struturix D2 e D10 (comumente empregados em dosimetria individual) foi variado entre 0 e 900.
