Structure and synthesis of complexes 4-arylflavan-3-ols and dibenzo[b,d]pyrones from Peltophorum africanum Sond
Description
The heart wood of Peltophorum africanum Sond. contains a variety of monomeric biflavenoids and pyrano[3,2-c][2]benzopyran-6(2H)-ones and dibenzo[b,d]pyrones (xanthines). Bergenin is the major component of the heart-wood and is accompanied by the 11-0-galloylderivative of which the structure is determined by 13C-NMR-spectroscopy. The structure of 2,3,9,13-tetra hydroxy-6,12-methane-6H,12H-dibenzo[b,f][1,5]dioxsozine is identified by 1H-NMR-spectra. 1H-NMR-spectroscopy and 13C-NMR-spectroscopy is used in the isolation, characterization and synthesis of several flavenoids
