A device for pre-separating water-drops in a two-phase flow

Description

The invention relates to the mechanical pre-separation of water-drops in suspension in a flow of saturated steam. To this end, the method comprises the steps of carrying out rough separations by directing the flow towards curved surfaces adapted to deflect that flow and to project the drops onto said surfaces, sucking the film formed by the water-drops displaced by centrifugal force on the outer periphery of said surfaces, directing the steam separated from the water-drops onto five separators so as to extract dry steam and discharging the water provided by the sucking of said surfaces and the five separators. The invention applies to the drying of steam issuing from the high-pressure bodies of nuclear steam-turbines

Abstract (French)

L'invention se rapporte a la pre-separation mecanique des gouttes d'eau contenues en suspension dans un ecoulement de vapeur saturee. A cette fin, on effectue des separations grossieres en dirigeant l'ecoulement sur des surfaces courbes qui le devient et projettent les gouttes sur ces surfaces, on aspire le film forme par les gouttes d'eau deportees par la force centrifuge sur le plus grand perimetre des surfaces, on dirige la vapeur separee des gouttes d'eau sur des separateurs fins pour en extraire de la vapeur seche, on evacue l'eau provenant de l'aspiration sur les surfaces et des separateurs fins. L'invention s'applique au sechage de la vapeur sortant des corps a haute pression des turbines a vapeur nucleaires
