Methodical bases on ecological zoning of the Semipalatinsk region of Irtysh river area and the Semipalatinsk test site (analytical review)

Description

Aim of the work is ecological zoning of the Semipalatinsk region Irtysh river area and the Semipalatinsk test site situated on territories of East Kazakstan, Pavlodar, Karaganda regions. Total area of territory which from 1991 up to 1991 has been exposed to influence of nuclear testing is equal 18.500 sq. km. It is noted, that earlier conducting zoning of the territory has superficial and non-objective character. Proposed methodic of ecological zoning has principal differences. So, ecological system (ecosystem) is taken in capacity of zone forming unit (namely: pastures, hay fields, arable lands, reservoirs etc). In previous methodic under zone-forming unit is considered territory of administrative district. In capacity of zone-forming features in methodic is taking: level of radiation contamination, wind rose, land relief, soil kinds, vegetation, animal world, geology, hydrogeology etc. In former - remoteness of territory of district from nuclear site. Authors propose certain ways and sequence for fulfillment of operations for territory ecological zoning
