Discussion on the applicability of permeable reactive (zero-valent iron) barriers to the remediation of groundwater around a uranium tailings site

Description
Permeable reactive barriers have been the first choice among the techniques of the remediation of polluted groundwater by virtue of their many aspects of advantages. Zero-valent iron is cheap and easy to get, and can effectively remove heavy metals including uranium in groundwater. On the basis of further research, this new technique is likely to be applied to the remediation of groundwater around a uranium tailings site of China. (authors)
