Climate, the false hope

As some media publish reassuring statements about climate, this article outlines that global warming has indeed not stopped and remains an urgent problem. Even though temperature has increased at a lesser rate during the last decade, it actually keeps on increasing and we keep on burning fossil fuels at such a rate that temperature will reach a level corresponding to an environmental catastrophe. The author outlines that concentration of carbon dioxide should remain under 405 ppm if we do not want this level to be reached. He also discusses the various phenomena which could explain the slower increase noticed for these past ten years, and discusses the value of this threshold level corresponding to a major environmental catastrophe, and the sensitivity of climate to carbon dioxide, notably as assessed in IPCC reports
