Description

The Nuclear Safety Commission received the report dated May 30, 1984, from the Committee on Examination of Nuclear Reactor Safety on the title problem, the investigation and deliberation of which had been instructed on April 19, 1984. After the deliberation, the Nuclear Safety Commission approved the policy of the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy to cope with this problem. The Power Reactor Subcommittee concluded that the arrangement and performance of the radiation measuring systems in both plants were adequate, that the ability withstanding environmental condition of the atomspheric radiation monitors for containment vessels was adequate, and that the soundness of the containment vessel boundaries was able to be ensured, accompanying the installation of the sampling facilities for accident time. It was confirmed that the sampling facilities were designed so as to be able to reduce the radiation exposure of workers in the case of sampling. (Kako, I.)
