Application of PSA to final repositories

  • 1. Bundesamt fuer Strahlenschutz, Salzgitter (Germany)
  • 2. Gesellschaft fuer Reaktorsicherheit mbH (GRS), Koeln (Germany)

Description

To demonstrate the safety related balance concept of nuclear plant design with respect to the operational phase, a PSA was also carried out for the planned German final repository of radioactive wastes, the KONRAD repository. In spite of the database deficiencies, the results show that the PSA for the KONRAD repository has been sufficient to demonstrate the effectiveness of the safety related design measures. 2 tabs
