Simulation of the deceleration of a relativistic electron beam in a dense plasma

Description

The deceleration of a relativistic electron beam in a dense plasma due to dissipation of the reverse current because of the finite conductivity of the plasma is investigated analytically and numerically by the giant particle method. In the deceleration process mutliple-velocity longitudinal motion can arise in the bunches
