The measurement of independent yields of 239Pu fission fragments induced by thermal neutrons using γ-ray spectroscopy
Description
The independent yields of 239Pu fission fragments induced by thermal neutrons were measured in order to verify the efficiency of gamma-spectroscopy method. Different ways of the thermal neutron beam production, both the reactor IBR-30 and the radioactive-isotope source 252Cf, were used. Comparative analysis of the experimental results with the recommended literature data was performed. The absence of the systematic discrepancies confirms the reliability of the experimental equipment, correctness of the data analysis and efficiency of the method being used.
