Sintering of high-dispersed molybdenum and tungsten powders

Description
Sintering conditions are studied for high-dispersed molybdenum and tungsten. A possibil+ty is shown for changes in the specific surface under vacuum annealing of free bulk high-dispersed powders within a wide range. The temperature for obtaining practically poreless specimens due to hot pressing of powder molybdenum and tungsten with a particle size less than 0.05 μm is established to be 1600 K, i.e. it is 400 K lower than sintering temperature for the powders with particle size above 1 μm. It is shown that oxygen and carbon contents in the sintered specimens are more than twice as low as in the initial one; microhardness of sintered briquettes is in satisfactory argeement with the data available in literature for molybdenum and tungsten
