Enhancing the response of cervical cancers treated with radio(chemo) therapy

  • 1. Ontario Cancer Institute, Toronto (Canada)
  • 2. Radiation Medicine Program, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto (Canada)

Description

There is an important need to improve the effectiveness of frontline radio-chemotherapy (RTCT) for cervical cancer since approximately 30% of patients recur following treatment and further treatment options are limited. The preclinical study demonstrates that the addition of Plerixa for to standard RTCT for cervical cancer improves local tumor response and reduces metastases with no apparent increase in early toxicity
