Relationship between composition and radiation induced luminescence of feldspars

Description
Luminescence radiation of feldspars is studied through autoradiography method. Samples were irradiated by 60Co source with 500 Ci up to doses of 100, 200, 500, 1000, 5000 10000 Gy with dose capacity of 1.6 kGy/h in the air at the temperature of environmental medium. The luminescence was more intensive for feldspars than for plagioclase had also different curves of response on radiation dose, reflecting differences in elemental composition of minerals
