Measuring element for determining the internal pressure in fuel rods
Description
A pressure cell is situated inside the fuel rod, which contains a magnetic core or a core influenced by magnetism, whose position relative to an outer front surface of an end stopper of the fuel rod can vary. The fuel rod contains a pressure cell directly above the lower end stopper or connected to it. This can consist of closed bellows, where if the internal pressure in the fuel rod rises, a ferrite core moves axially. When the pressure drops, this returns to the initial position, which is precisely defined by a stop. To detect a rod defect, the position of the soft iron core relative to the lower edge of the end stopper is scanned by a special measuring device. (orig./HP)

Innerhalb des Brennstabes ist eine Druckmessdose angeordnet, die einen magnetischen oder magnetisch beeinflussbaren Kern enthaelt, dessen Stellung relativ zu einer aeusseren Stirnflaeche eines Endstopfens des Brennstabes veraenderbar ist. Jeder Brennstab enthaelt unmittelbar ueber dem unteren Endstopfen, oder mit diesem verbunden, eine Druckmessdose. Diese kann aus einem geschlossenen Faltenbalg bestehen, in dem sich beim Anstieg des Brennstabinnendruckes ein Ferritkern axial verlagert. Dieser kehrt bei Abfall des Druckes in seine durch eine Anschlagflaeche genau definierte Ausgangslage zurueck. Zur Kontrolle auf einen Stabdefekt wird mit der speziellen Messvorrichtung die Lage des Weicheisenkernes relativ zur Unterkante des Endstopfens abgetastet. (orig./HP)Files
