Description
Cathode Ray Tubes as windows to a process give considerably more flexibility than the long-used fixed conventional indicators. This feature enables the presentation of information which is well tailored to the individual operator's knowledge-base. The KONVOI plants are therefore fitted with a highly sophisticated computer-based information system which is designed to inform the operating personnel at any time during both normal and abnormal operating conditions about the major process variables of the plant. It allows a deeper insight into system status and plant behaviour than is possible using conventional technology. This Process Information System (PRINS) plays an important part in the malfunction handling concept of the KONVOI plants. (author)
