Efficiency of electron beam energy deposition in a beam-plasma discharge

  • 1. RNTs Kurchatovskij Inst., Moscow (Russian Federation)

Description

The electron beam energy deposition in a stationary beam-plasma discharge accomplished in a longitudinal magnetic field is experimentally studied. It is shown that in the case of intensive electron beam with the density of approximately 108 cm-3 creating the plasma with the density of approximately 1011cm3, the external electrical field with the frequency between the low-hybrid and ion plasma one gives to strong turbulence and high impact on the beam relaxation. The obtained data on the beam, plasma and spectra parameters of the low-frequency oscillation make it possible to achieve the notion on the value of the HF-filed and the mechanisms determining the development of oscillations in the system with the cross-sectional electrical field to variable through the magnetic field
