Optimizing achievement of plant performance goals

Creators

  • 1. General Electric Co., San Jose, CA

Description

A structured approach is described for identifying and prioritizing improvements to nuclear power plant availability and capacity factor as balanced against other goals. The approach involves a systematic review of past performance, comparison of that performance to others within the industry, and identification and prioritization of attractive improvements. The prioritization process ensures that the improvements selected for early implementation are those which most directly support the utility-specific corporate goals and objectives. Consistent use of the approach will not only facilitate the budget planning process but also help in the development and justification of implementation schedules and spending practices
