Study of radiation from plasma-material interaction zone in disruption simulation experiments

  • 1. D.V.Efremov Scientific Research Institute of Electrophysical Apparatus, St. Petersburg (Russian Federation)

Description

Some results of the study of radiation in visible and VUV regions of spectrum from plasma-material interaction zone are given in the report. Plasma source - high power long-pulse (τp = 0.09-0.36 ms) coaxial plasma accelerator is able to produce extremely intensive plasma load (wp ≤ 30 MJ/m2) on the target, that is closed to expected divertor plates load during ITER plasma disruptions. The analysis of line and continuum radiation from plasma-material interaction zone has allowed to value the composition and spatial distribution of main plasma parameters in this zone (Te ≅ 8-12 eV; ne ≅ 1024 m-3 for graphite target). It has suggested these parameters are determined by compressed incident plasma flow to a considerable extent. (author)
