Preparation of anodic deposits without sampling

Description

A method permitting to obtain anodic deposits for testing without sampling, i. e. directly from the product surface, is developed. The method has been worked out as applied to low-alloyed heat-resisting steels of pearlite class used in thermal and nuclear power engineering. The method permits to carry out layer-by-layer phase analysis of metals, which can not be achieved using sampling method. The product studied is an anode. An electrolytic bath is fixed on a cleaned up area, a cathode with a membrane is placed into it, and the bath is filled with electrolyte corresponding to the grade of steel investigated. It takes 20-30 min to abtain a required quantity of deposit from the area of approximately 20 cm2 at a temperature of 20-25 deg C
