Analysis of water behaviour in living tissues by NMR imaging and T2 relaxation times
- 1. Tohoku Univ., Sendai (Japan). Research Inst. for Tuberculosis and Cancer
Description
In order to obtain fundamental materials for NMR image analysis, it was experimentally confirmed that NMR images and T2 values depend on changes in repetition time. Experimentally-induced edema in the lung and liver of rabbits was observed on NMR, revealing that there are two kinds of components having short and long T2 values and that components having long T2 values depend on water behavior in living tissues. Principle of NMR phenomena, experimental analysis of NMR-CT and considerations on NMR image analysis were presented. (Namekawa, K.)
