Nondestructive testing at MPA Full Scale Vessel within PISC III - status report and first results

Description

The tests reported were done with PWR component specimens inserted into the specimen holding equipment of the MPA Full Scale Vessel. The specimens contained the following flaws: Fatigue cracks, artificial and inherent welding defects, bores and notches. Defect positions and orientations were varified. Defect sizing was done by the ultrasonic techniques according to the ASME code. (DG)

Abstract (German)

In einem auf den MPA-Grossbehaelter aufgesetzten Traegerring fuer Druckwasser-Reaktor-Komponenten wurden Pruefstuecke eingesetzt. Die Pruefstuecke wiesen Schwingrisse, kuenstliche und natuerliche Schweissfehler, Bohrungen und Nuten auf, deren Fehlerlage und -orientierung variiert war. Die Fehlergroessenbestimmung erfolgte mittels Ultraschall entsprechend der industriell ueblichen Prozedur mit ASME-Code. (DG)
