Observation of anisotropic plasma
Description
In the low density plasma measurement by electron counting with a secondary electron multiplier in a spherical probe, the plasma generated by a backward diffusion type plasma source contains high velocity ion current, and plasma anisotropy occurs around the probe. The phenomenon is also expected in the observation with a projectile. To know the influence of plasma anisotropy on the probe measurement by experiment, the electron counting method is suitable. The results of the simulation experiment carried out on the ground are first briefed. Then, a new type of plasma source developed for the purpose is described in detail. (Mori, K.)
