Cold fusion: a learning curve?

Description
Australian scientists comments or the controversial 'cold fusion' experiment as described by Professors Fleishmann and Pons are briefly summarized. They offer suggestions about the mechanisms involved and a number of recommendations for further experiments including: use of a diamond anvil to reach pressures of 1 million atmospheres, subjecting titanium shaving to 50 atmospheres of D2 gas at temperatures down to 77K, use of titanium in preference to palladium and increasing the temperature to get higher jump frequencies and to reduce the effective minimum distance between H occupying interstitial sites of metal-H systems
