Survey of the EDF first dismantling operations: The case of Chinon A2

Description
The steps followed during dismantling operations of the Chinon A2 power plant and the experience acquired during the first dismantling steps are summarized. The parameters to be taken into account are: the ensemble of the irradiated or contaminated equipment or materials, the radiological aspects characterizing the peripheral circuit components, the duration of the operations, the EDF regulations relating to the solutions to be retained. The strategie to be followed is summarized. The experience acquired on the methods, tests, decontamination and removal of oils is analyzed. The actions to avoid radioactive wastes to come back into a public environment are presented

La demarche suivie pour les operations de demantelement de l'installation Chinon A2 et l'enseignement tire de la realisation des premiers gestes de demantelement sont resumes. Les elements a prendre en compte lors des operations concernent: l'ensemble des materiels ou materiaux irradies ou contamines, l'aspect radiologique caracterisant les elements de circuits exterieurs au coeur; la perennite de l'activite d'exploitation du site, les regles de base fournies par EDF pour effectuer le choix de la solution a retenir. Les decisions relatives a la strategie d'ensemble sont resumees. L'experience acquise en ce qui concerne les methodes, les essais, la decontamination et l'evacuation des huiles est analysee.
