Management systems for nuclear facilities

Description

The guide defines generic safety and quality management requirements affecting the contents, implementation, maintenance, assessment and improvement of the management system of an organisation applying for a construction or operating licence for a nuclear facility, or one constructing or operating a nuclear facility. The management system requirements set forth in this guide shall be applied at each phase in the lifetime of the facility and for the entire duration of activities in normal, transient and emergency situations, including any subsequent period of institutional control that may be necessary. For the facility, these phases usually include siting, design, construction, commissioning, operation and decommissioning. The requirements set out in the guide apply, to the appropriate extent, to the vendor as well as design and expert organisations, testing and inspection organisations, component and materials manufacturers and other suppliers whose operations have a bearing on the safety of the nuclear facility
