Studying the processes of mixturing in the WWER sinking channel
Description
Process of mixing cold and hot water in downcomer of the WWER reactor at small-break-type accident are investigated experimentally. The investigations are conducted on a model simulating the WWER-1000 reactor vessel (the scale 1:14.3). The experiments are conducted at the temperature of cold water equal to 20-30 deg C. The temperature of hot water varied in the 160-280 deg C range, that corresponds to change of relative density from 0.1 to 0.3. Data characterizing temperature distributions in the channel in different cross sections and at different values of coolant flow rate and relative density are obtained
