Software development for on-line control of a nuclear reactor
Description
This paper presents the structured software development of a microcomputer-based control scheme that has been implemented on an operating nuclear reactor. The control system incorporates on-line detection and estimation of faulty equipment, sensor calibration, measurement estimation, and information display in a given controller structure. Thus, the operation of the nuclear reactor is tolerant of process disturbance, failures of certain plant components, and sensor degradation and noise. The software is designed to follow a top-down hierarchy. A systematic test procedure has been used to enhance software reliability
