Astatine-211 for vectorized radiotherapy of cancers
Description
This article presents one of the most enigmatic elements, astatine, of which one of the isotopes, 211At, radioactive and emitting alpha particles, is promising for cancer therapy. The production methods of this radioisotope of interest for nuclear medicine are described, as well as the chemical approaches developed to master this element with still relatively unknown properties, in order to vectorize it on the tumors to be treated. Its use in nuclear medicine is presented through some concrete examples
