Rectovaginal fistulas: complication of combined radiotherapy in patients with cancer of uterine cervix and body

Description

The study involved 24 patients with rectovaginal fistulas which appeared 6-18 months after combined radiotherapy. Application of combined radiotherapy in T3-T4 cancer of uterine body and cervix may cause rectovaginal fistulas. Surgical correction of the complication should be performed if the disease does not continue not earlier than 2 year after the course of radiotherapy
