A radiochemical study of the addition reaction of bromine with bis-dimethylglyoximato-Ni(II)
Description
80Br of high specific activity has been used in the study of the addition reaction of bromine with bis-dimethylglyoximato-nickel /II/ Ni/DH/2, in anhydrous chloroform. From the thermolytic study of the products followed by radiochemical measurements, the nature of an addition compound containing Ni/III/ species has been confirmed by magnetic susceptibility measurements. Liquid Br2 was irradiated for 18 hours in a photo-neutron source of nominal 13 Ci [124Sb(+Be)] with a neutron flux of the order of 107 n cm-2s-1. (F.Gy.)
