Structural investigation of 1-phenylsulfonyl-2-(n-butylsulfonyl)-3,3-dimethylbutane

Description

The x-ray crystal structure of 1-phenylsufonyl-2- (n-butylsulfonyl)-3,3-dimethylbutane was determined. The unit-cell parameters are as follows: a=11.647(4), b=11.943(4), and c=13.718(4) A; α=86.01(2) deg., β=84.71(2) deg., and γ=77.09(2) deg.; V=1850(2)A3; dcalc=1.244g/cm3; Z=4; and sp. gr. P1-bar. The eclipsed molecular conformation is responsible for the regio- and stereospecific elimination of the RSO2-group
