The positive-parity states in sup(41)Ca and sup(41)Sc
Description
The low-lying levels in the positive-parity states of Casup(41) and Scsup(41) have been calculated using the nuclear collective model in the framework of the intermediate-coupling approach. In this model a single hole in the 1d-2s shell is coupled to the first excited state in Casup(42) which is assumed to be vibrational. Several lower predicted states are in the right order and relatively consistent with observed levels, except for the second 5/2 and 3/2 levels between the second 1/2 and 7/2 levels which are predicted too low between the first 7/2 and 9/2 levels.
