Creep of zirconium in temperature region of 1.5-140 K

Description

Peculiarities of polycrystal zirconium creep (R300K/R4.2K=170) in the temperature range from 1.5 to 140 K are studied, activation parameters depending on the temperature and stress are determined. It is stated that zirconium plastic strain in the investigated temperature range is controled by dislocation-impurity interaction, forest dislocations and Pierls-Nabarro barriers, at this the role of the lattice friction mechanism increases with the temperature decrease. The data obtained are analysed in frames of modern theories of plastic material flow under low temperatures
