Description

The G-1 intercomparison is one of the first undertakings of the International Atomic Energy Agency for the investigations of the performance of the routinely used evaluating programs for gamma-ray spectra of semiconductor detectors. For the present study three goals of the gamma-spectrum evaluating programs were chosen: area computation of singlets, of doublets, and estimation of error in the areas of singlets. The following program features were examined in detail: type of peak shape function; width of spectral region included in the fit of the peak shape function (fitting region); mathematical method of fitting; method of peak area computation; and method of error estimation in peak area.
