Neutron diffraction of aligned powder, spin rotation and transverse susceptibility

  • 1. Israel Atomic Energy Commission, Beersheba. Nuclear Research Center-Negev
  • 2. Ben-Gurion Univ. of the Negev, Beersheba (Israel)

Description

Transverse susceptibility, chi12, is defined for an aligned powder sample. This chi12 can be deduced from neutron diffraction. The idea is applied to Ho.6Tb.4Fe2 which undergoes a spin reorientation at low temperature
