Investigation of processes of equilibrium exchange of ions on activated carbons

Description
The activation energy of isotopic exchange of different natupe cations is determined to estimate the strength of bonds of absorbed ions on coal with its surface. The data on isotopic exchange of Tl+ and Sr2+ ions from solutions of the corresponding nitric acid salts on oxidized coal and carbon black are given. It is shown that a slowed-down exchange of a portion of cations adsorbed on carbon black and coal is caused by the action of specific forces of interaction of adsorbed ions with the adsorbent surface (characteristic property of the carbon surface and its chemical nature+ energetic inhomogeneity+ availability of defective areas)
