Within the interdisciplinary treatment concept, the application of radiotherapy of pituitary adenomas is determined by the potentials and limits of surgery and chemotherapy. High remission rates at low morbidity may be achieved by the application of up-to-date irradiation techniques when adhering strictly to the recommended individual doses of 1.8 Gy and a total target volume dose of 45 Gy (according to ICRU report 29). Der Einsatz der Strahlentherapie der Hypophysenadenome orientiert sich im interdisziplinaeren Behandlungskonzept an den Moeglichkeiten und Grenzen des chirurgischen Vorgehens und der medikamentoesen Behandlung. Unter strenger Beachtung der empfohlenen Einzeldosen von 1,8 Gy und Gesamt-Zielvolumendosen von 45 Gy (nach ICRU-Report 29) lassen sich unter Anwendung moderner Bestrahlungstechniken hohe Remissionsquoten bei geringer Morbiditaet erzielen.
