Optical identification of radio sources in globular clusters
Description
The regions of radio sources detected previously in the fields of nine globular clusters are examined on direct photographs in order to ascertain whether optical objects can be identified for subsequent photometric and spectroscopic observations. Position reference stars in the fields of six of the nine clusters are provided along with finding charts, and candidate stars at the positions of the radio sources are identified. One possible coincidence for NGC 5272 (M3) is found, together with reasonable identifications for NGC 6205 (M13), NGC 6440, NGC 6864 (M75), and NGC 7078 (M15). The planetary nebula Kuestner 648 in NGC 7078 is shown to agree very well in position with the radio source detected in that cluster
