Influence of chemical composition of water and electrode material on process of hydrogen formation

Description

The aim of article is to study the influence of chemical composition of water and electrode material on process of hydrogen formation. Thus, the influence of alkaline medium and electrode material on rate of hydrogen formation during water electrolysis has been studied using KOH. The manifestation of a chemical reaction of electrolysis products at the electrode-water phase boundary, leading to embrittlement of electrode has been defined. (author)
